Travel Diaries 2k15 - Part 2

On our last day in Switzerland, we took a car on rent and drove to Austria. We drove from Interlaken to Innsbruck, a six hour drive. But because we began at 5 in the evening, we reached Innsbruck at 12:30 am. During the drive from Interlaken to Innsbruck, we had to take many diversions due to rain, snow and hail! Much to our relief, we got back onto the autobahn and everything was fine from there. The first place we visited in Austria was Innsbruck. This town isn't very big, but it sure has lots of things to do. Just about 40 km from this city, there is the Swarovski World, which is really good. They've got clouds made of Swarovski crystals, glass walls filled with the crystals , they've got a maze which when seen from a certain height looks like a hand. We really had a good time in Swarovski world. The old city is one long lane, with shops on either side. These shops mainly consist of souvenirs and alcohol. There was this restaurant called Mamma Mia, where I ate the best p

Have you ever felt the urge to explore? To get way? To travel too far to return back home? I feel it all the time. And that's exactly what I decided to do. This year, I travelled to Switzerland, Austria & Germany with my family. And to say that it was an unforgettable trip would be an understatement. These twenty days were some of the best and most memorable days of my life! I'll begin with Switzerland. I landed in Geneva and from there it all began! I visited Geneva, Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne, Bern, Lucerne, Thun, Visp, Zermatt, Interlaken, Wilderswil,  Grindelwald  & Jungfrau! In Geneva, we visited the Lakeside, the Cathedral and took a bus through the historic part of the city. There is this 12m high fountain at the lakeside, which an be spotted from a kilometre away! Then there's the old city, which is lovely. You can either take the Hop On-Hop Off bus which gives an entire tour of the city, or you can explore the city at your own pace by making full use of a bi

My favorite Sportsman

All of us look up to someone or the other from whom we can get inspiration , whom we can idolise and whom we love for their virtues. Some people idolise their parents, some look up to their friends , some idolise a famous personality. The person who I look up to, or whom I call my role model is Rafael Nadal, a tennis player. I remember the first time I ever watched him play, was when I was in the 5th grade. He won the Australian Open finals against Federer and even apologised for the win on centre court, as he saw Federer crying. This got to me and I started idolising from that day. I love Rafa for many reasons. I've never seen a more passionate person than him, be it for tennis, his family or anything of that sort. He sets the perfect example of how a sportsperson should be, as he knows when to be aggressive, when to be calm and how to behave on and off court. As aggressive as he is on court, in direct proportion, he is a shy, kind - hearted and a very straightforward person off co

Sports - From the point of view of a sportsperson.

For any normal person, sports is nothing exclusive, it is something very very ordinary. Now,thinking from the point of view of a sportsperson, their respective sport IS THEIR LIFE. I , being a sportsperson myself, am saying this. A sportsperson is one who plays a particular sport professionally as well as one who plays the sport as a hobby or a pastime. While a professional lives and breathes his particular sport, others can't go without playing their respective sport atleast once in 2-3 days.  They enjoy their sport thoroughly, whether they play it for a living, or a hobby. The elated feeling that one gets after playing a certain sport is just inexplicable, only a true sportsperson can       comprehend that feeling. A sportsperson plays a sport for various reasons; for getting rid of stress, to compete, to improve and so on. Also, by playing some sport, you get to meet new people with similar likes and interests.  I don't think any sportsperson can go a day without thinking

A Few Places I'd Like To Visit Before I Die.

The world has many beautiful places, some known for scenic beauty, some known for their development, while others known for their culture and way of life. There are many places I'd like to visit before I die, but if I had to choose, here are the places I'd like to visit before I die :  • Venice : This city is drenched in such exquisite beauty - the domes, the lacework of the canals, the gilded spires; all so breathtaking. The fact that it is neither land not water, but something in between is very intriguing. • Spain : This country, famous for its historic beauty, has some of the most beautiful monuments in the world. Also, one of the main reasons why I'd like to visit Spain is because Rafael Nadal - My Idol resides over there. • Alaska : Far Away, isolated and expensive, Alaska is a traveller's dilemma. It's beauty is absolutely breathtaking and very few places in the world have similar beauty. • Philippines : The beauty of this place is infinite. It is known
